First Impression
The Kanger SubVod is a great vape pen meant for beginners and intermediate vapers. It offers the kind of convenience and simplicity you need without sacrificing flavor or performance. Unfortunately, if you were a former chain smoker, the Kanger SubVod is probably not powerful enough to provide you with vapor all day long because of its size. However, the pen uses an internal battery, which can be charged through a USB charging port located directly on the pen itself. It could also be a great side mod for a slightly more advanced user who needs a vaporizer that can easily slip into a pocket or bag without taking up too much room. Kanger SubVod Starter Kit
The Kanger SubVod comes with a 1300 mAh internal battery attached to a Nano S tank for an all-in-one device. You will also receive a spare pyrex glass piece, an extra SSOCC 0.5Ω coil head and your standard micro-USB charging cable and user manual. The pen comes in six colors including baby blue, pink, lavender, stainless steel, white, and black, and you can choose to purchase an extra 5-pack of SSOCC coils in either klapton at 0.5Ω or nickel at 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω, or 1.2Ω.

Kanger SubVod Design & Features
The Kanger SubVod is a relatively small vape pen that easily fits in a jeans pocket. It has an internal battery that screws onto the tank. The fire button is positioned on the front of the mod, and there are no variable voltage options.
Performance
The Kanger SubVod performed fairly well for its size. Vaping heavily, you can get about five hours out of this baby. So, it’s probably ideal as a side mod for nights out or short day trips and errand runs. If you’re looking for something to drag along with you on a daily basis, just know that you’ll probably have to recharge it during the afternoon. Fortunately, there is an internal battery, so you can charge it right inside the device. Unfortunately, the charging port is located on the bottom of the pen, so you won’t be able to stand it upright while it’s charging. However, since it’s a pen, the upright position may not even be the most convenient way to charge the device anyway.

The Tank
The Kanger SubVod tank holds about 1.9ml, and there is a convenient fill line midway up the tank. Make sure you don’t fill beyond this line because even though it seems that the tank is only half full, or half empty if you prefer, the juice level will rise to the top once you screw the chimney back into place. It’s always a good idea to prime your coils before screwing the tank back onto the battery. To do so, simply drip some of your remaining e-juice onto the wicking material through the juice inlets.
Kanger SubVod Display & Menu
There is no menu to worry about on this mod. Simply press the circular red button five times to turn the device on and another five times to turn it off. If you click it once, it should light up if it’s turned on. Otherwise, you can be sure that the device is off. That’s really all there is to it. If you’re a beginner, you can rest assured that the learning curve on the Kanger Subvod certainly is not very steep.
Kanger SubVod Kit’s Price
You can find the Kanger SubVod for sale at South Beach Smoke for only about $30, and you can throw in a package of extra coils for about $15 if you feel as though you’ll go through the first couple quickly. Even though you’ll add a bit more if you add the extra coils, you’ll still be getting a bargain. If you were to go back a few years even, you wouldn’t be able to find a vape pen that worked as well as the Kanger SubVod for anything less than $100.
